After several recent parentage failures of his progeny, DataGene has now received a new genotype for Beulah Tahbilk (TAHBILK). After investigation, it appears that a sampling or data entry error somewhere between sample collection and entry onto the system has led to an incorrect genotype being linked to this bull several years ago. As his sons and daughters are now being genotyped, the genomic parentage verification system correctly detected inconsistencies in the matching of genotypes between the sire and his progeny.
DataGene is satisfied that TAHBILK’s parentage has been correctly recorded in the animal evaluation system and that the genomic sample linked to him is now correct.
TAHBILK’s next official release is in the August run.
