DataGene, the dairy industry’s new organisation to drive herd improvement, has received overwhelming support with 17 organisations becoming members recently, joining foundation members Dairy Australia, Australian Dairyfarmers and NHIA.
Chair, Ross Joblin, said the 17 new members included herd test centres, genetics companies and breed associations (refer list at end).
“Member participation involves not just a financial contribution but also a commitment to collaborate to improve genetic gain for Australian dairy farmers and to increase the use of data to make better on-farm decisions,” Ross said.
DataGene’s members include:
Herd test companies: HICO, NHD, TasHerd, Yarram Herd Services, FarmWest, Numurkah Nu-genes
